Also included is Herriman’s own draft card, which shows him claiming the McAlpin Hotel as his home address, while Mabel Herriman resides in the family home in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, no letters or other information has ever been located to explain this separation — if it was necessary for work or if it indicates a strain in their marriage — but the couple would be soon reunited in Los Angeles.
