Chapter 3 - As the Office Boy Saw It
This gallery features the first known picture of George Herriman, as a St. Vincent’s College student. He can be seen in the center, marked with the number “14.” Also seen here is a page from a student grade book. Some of Herriman’s first published work for the Los Angeles Herald shows how he began as an office boy but quickly worked his way up to cartoonist. Also included are several Krazy Kat comics that reflect Herriman’s school days.
